About this expansion sentence: 以前他们一对兄弟现在敌人。Is 敌人 pronunced di2ren2 or di2ren4? I think I hear di2ren4 but the mouse-over says di2ren2.

I cut my hair. I'm not a pro, but the job is competitevely priced, and fairly convenient :-)

Bodawei, how about making your own mooncakes :-) There are a lot of substitutes for wheat.

This year I made the fantastic mistake of preparing faaaar too much red beans, and ended up making mooncakes for over 10 hours. I've got plenty of them now...

Thanks! Everything falls into place. That piece of information is actually in the shi...de lesson too, but I have never noticed it although I have listened to the lesson several times before. Today is a good day :-)

Hi Bill,

I've just got a vauge idea when to use shi..de and when not to, so I won't contribute those ideas...

However, you can find some helpful shi...de sentences on nciku. For instance, try typing 是什么时候 or 我是 in the search box, and you will get a bunch of good examples :-)

I have two friends who are from Harbin and they use 儿化, though not as much as the people in Beijing. One interesting detail in their accent is that they mix up z and zh, e.g. they pronunce 中国 zhong1guo2 as zong1guo2. Sometimes they do it rigth (zhong1guo2) but then do it wrong in the next sentence again, probably because they thought they were wrong the first time (when they actually said it the right way) and therefore makes a "correction" ending up pronuncing it the wrong way again.

This guy is from northeast china: http://baike.baidu.com/view/2783.htm

He often acts in the 春节联欢晚会小品: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI4XxDHT4l0

I see, my speed isn't great but I have unlimited quota instead. Works pretty good for casual surfing.
