January 22, 2008 at 5:33 AMDave, I think that's just how Chinese people talk to one another. Here in Taiwan I can't go through the day without someone telling me not to drink cold drinks, sleep with the fan on, go outside with wet hair (even if it's 100 F outside), drive my scooter with my jacket open, or any one of a million other things that "make you sick". People seem pretty eager to tell you what to do if it's health/ safety related.

May 22, 2008 at 5:20 AMThe omelet is 蚵仔煎. The first two characters are pronounced "e2 a" and then the jian is pronounced like the th in "the" combined with an en sound. Can't think of a good way to pin yin it and I'm late for work.....
