Great lesson, included some vocab I've been searching for recently... a conversational way to express amusement / finding something funny.

Would it be correct to infer from the lesson that 你太逗了 - translates as you're very amusing, and therefore is more of a statement, whereas 超搞笑 is more appropriate to use as an exclamation? Akin to "that's so funny!"?

The character for pull 拉 I found especially easily to remember because it is used very often on mainland Chinese World of Warcraft servers, when it's used to mean 'to summon'.

可以拉我吧？ - Can you summon me?

拉人，我们马上开始。- Summon people, we're about to start.

Perhaps a bit of a nerdy anecdote, but it certainly made it easy to distinguish between 拉 and 推 !

I live in Shanghai and never hear 儿 vocalised (except from my colleague from 北京) and almost never see it written down. It is only here on Chinesepod that I come into contact with it. I tend not to use it my spoken Chinese, as it would stand out if I did, and therefore I tend not to use it in my written Chinese either (what little of it there is!).

I find it useful to hear on Chinesepod, as it's more information about commonly spoken Chinese outside of my area. But I also like the fact it is optional to include, because it is alien to the Chinese that I see & use in my location! So a well done to Cpod on that one I think.

I could just about read your comment in 汉字, but its great to have the pinyin and translation. I'm a new user on Chinesepod, and just having some in-context sentences posted in the triple format of 汉字，pinyin, english, is really useful.

I have learned most of my Chinese up until now conversationally, with only a dictionary and some generous friends to help out. This has left me with a weird level of Chinese, where I find the Newbie level here slightly below my general level, but have some basic vocab holes that make elementary a challenge. All in all I think this is a good place to be in, I pick up vocab where ever I can, speaking of which: 另一方面 (lìngyīfāngmiàn) (on the other hand), is a real gem! (har har), I will definitely be using that.
