May 13, 2009 at 2:56 AMThanks everyone for your comments!
It's always nice to see people's reaction to something you create, especially if it's positive ;P
By the way this episode was a nightmare to film! We had to ask the restaurant downstairs to let us film after the customers left and before closing time. They were so kind they even lent us the waitresses' uniforms, but they only let us shoot for half an hour and until the very last moment we didn't have anyone for the role of the waitress!
Anyway, I would like to thank Mark Lewis, the writer of the series, and of course Matt and Lane which did a great job, but also Philip and Xiaoxiao for their great help.

@xiaohu,
no need to apologize: de gustibus non est disputandum!
I'm just glad you liked the first episode and I hope you'll follow the series. About that bowl of mifen I'm more than glad to join you even though I've heard "guilin mifen" so many times in the editing and shooting that I could just go crazy and explode :P

April 6, 2009 at 8:54 AMI don't know about 标准 (-哪) 普通话 (-儿哪), but I can tell you that when I studied in Beijing (-na) I knew some Thai students that would always go like that:
qu narna?
chi fanna?
zaijianna!
so I have to give credit to them for it, and even if it's not biaozhunna, it is now! ;)

April 6, 2009 at 3:57 AMciao bababardwan,
the video with Ken was just a fun little clip, but it was so fun to make!
I also recently purchased an iPod Touch and I've been testing the new video series on it, because I wanted to use the iPod as a device you could stop the clips and use the stills as language information you can show to people to help you out in your China trip (it's a bit difficult to explain it before you have seen the videos).
Not many connections with The Amazing Race apart from the fact that there is quite a bit of running for our actors ;)

May 3, 2010 at 6:02 PMoh god the NewsAndFeatures jingle!!! still the best! Catherine, John! I heard a rumour that Sarah kicks the hell out of the Masai Warriors in the 3rd episode. Apparently she couldn't take the fact that they ran faster than her. I feel bad for Paul and Francis, I was actually betting on them.
take care, beautiful PodPeople.
