May 5, 2011 at 4:26 PMThanks...I guess that was pretty obvious :) Great idea having a lesson that teaches us a song, especially one that is so familiar to people in China. I really enjoyed this lesson!

Great idea for a show! Chinese poetry has always been a fascinating area to me, but I've never quite know where to start. I think this is going to be a great show!

I will certainly miss hearing your humor and your insight into all the interesting situations that foreigner's can find themselves in in Shanghai. Best wishes in New York!

June 13, 2008 at 4:05 AMThere's a book that came out back in March called The Fortune Cookie Chronicles: Adventures in the World of Chinese Food. I believe it deals with the Chinese immigrant experience in the US by tracing the history of the development of Chinese food over here. I haven't read it myself, so I can't vouch for it, but it sounds intriguing. The author is Jennifer Lee.
I saw fortune cookies at a restaurant in Xi'an about 8 years ago, but have not seen them in China since...though I never thought to ask. Anyway, if you do decide to market them in China, Jenny, I'm all for the flash card fortune!

July 25, 2011 at 3:11 AMI haven't tried converting any Chinese documents into MOBI files, but I've uploaded several ChinesePod PDFs to my Kindle and noticed that some of the characters in the lesson titles don't show up on the Kindle screen--the PDF files themselves are fine because I think the kindle essentially converts them into images. I'm under the impression that the Kindle can only display some of the more common Chinese characters. However, I haven't been very successful in locating any Chinese books in eBook format either. Does anyone know whether it is actually possible to read a Chinese book on the Kindle, or if Amazon plans on introducing new firmware that allows one to read Chinese books on it?
