just my two cents worth --- re: 二 vs 两 . i would say 两 has something to do with amount e.g. there are two things, two times. but in the context where "two" doesnt mean "amount", the word 二 is used. e.g. 第 二 名 (di4 er4 ming2) means "No.2"/runner up/ ranked second, it doesn't mean there are 2 people, so 二 is used instead of 两

sorry i should have said that "de" means (one)'s (belonging/ stuff/ thing/ other nouns). so if you say "wo de shou" it means "my hand(s)", or if you say "zhe jian yi fu shi wo de" it means "these clothes are mine".

hi italiana, "de" means "of" (just like "zhi"). "ni3" means "you" so i don't think you can use it as "and". "ni ne" does mean "and you?" but that's not a direct/ word-for-word translation. "ne" is a question word (i saw some 'podders' brought up this discussion somewhere else), and when a Chinese says "ni ne?" i suppose it's like an English speaker saying "Yourself?" (e.g. "I'm fine. Yourself?" hope this helps
