Below are some modern Chinese novels that are already translated into Japanese. Let me tell you beforehand, I’ve never read any of them. And I don’t know whether or not these authors are well known in China too.
Modern Chinese literature is still far from being 热门 in Japan, but it seems that the number of its Japanese fans has been steadily increasing in the past decade, with the rapid economic growth in China.

The Japanese did a lot of killing in China during the Sino-Japanese War. Too bad the right-wing radicals Japs continue to insist that they didn't do anything wrong and won't admit their war crimes.
Until then, the Chinese people will never like the Japs. We will do business with and tolerate the Japs, but the hatred to them is still within our people forever.
We can't forget and forgive the Japs for the Rape of Nanking, the taking of our treasures, and the murder of millions of Chinese under the hands of the murderous Japanese soliders. How they behaved then, is how the Congolese Rebels are behaving today. Rape, murder and genocine.

Cinzhang,
If you use racist slang on this board you will be banned.
War is terrible. But this kind of petty insult throwing is not productive.

Cinzhang,
consider that those acts were committed by people long dead, not those living today. You also can not assign the actions of a few in govt to the masses. Most importantly, racist language and thinking is what makes this kind of thing possible. Once you can think of another group as less than human it is easier to kill without empathy. The key is to stop this kind of thinking at its orign, which is racist language.

Japan can not ignore their history. Japan has been trying to ignore their deadly deeds of the past. Just this week, again they recently deny their deeds of the past century.
Their children are taught not about what their Imperial Army did in China, Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Indonesia, etc. They continue to deny their role in murdering millions of people during their occupation of Asia.
China and Asia will never forget what happened, and will alway remember what happened. They can not rewrite history.
It is easy for foreigners not to understand what happened in Asia. At least Germany, Italy appolgized to the West for what happened in WWII. But Japan has never apologized to China and Asia.

Sorry if you don't like the language. It is the message that is important. So, try to see beyond the names.
Those J-names were used and popularized by Westerners and Americans, not us Chinese. It is something you taught us. I heard that Americans aren't suppose to buy their cars because it is hurting America.

Cinzhang,
No one denies that the Japanese army committed atrocities during the war.
But Chinese people have always suffered most at the hands of their fellow Chinese. Does the Chinese education system emphasize this? How much do you learn about 洪秀全 ? At least twenty million people died during his rebellion. What about the 三年自然灾害?How many millions died during that time? Did foreign enemies cause this? Did 大自然 really cause it?
It is ridiculous for you to say that "It is easy for foreigners not to understand what happened in Asia." Have you studied any history texts not published in mainland China? If not, you may actually be the one who does not really understand Asian history.
These forums are for intelligent discussion. Racism will not be tolerated. The good news is, ignorance is a curable disease.

cinzhang, my father fought in the Phillipines during World War II. When World War II began, he had three brothers. When it ended, he had one. His ship sailed to Australia, New Guinea, the Philippines, Japan and, after the war ended, escorted transports carrying Japanese troops from Shanghai back to Japan. He has stories of the Huang Pu River being filled with bodies and desperate Chinese rushing armed warships.
So where do you get off saying that foreigners don't understand what happened in Asia? How many countries did you fight in?
