Oh, the pain of giving cliche-d answers to interview questions and wishing you could say something brilliant...  Makes me long for more Lao Wang stories.

It can mean a sum of money as in:
银行给他们贷了款。- The bank lent some money to them.

In the west ,there are now many interview questions that are considered off limits [e.g questions relating to marital status,plans for pregnancy,etc].What's the situation in China in that regard?

There has also been a trend in the west to get people assessed by psychologists to determine suitability for  a job.Does this happen in China and if so to what extent?

In the public sector there has also been several processes in place to guard against discrimination,including having a panel of interviewers.Does anything like this happen?

人脉。。In the west there is the concept of not mixing business with pleasure.I get the impression this would be a totally foreign concept in China.In fact that the opposite occurs.对不对？

Finally,how common would it be that the salary of the position being applied for would not be known/advertised?

I was rally looking forward for this lesson, Job Interview is a very important subject. However the moment I heard that “racing voice” I know I will not utilize this lesson as I should (jut to make sure I am not talking about the dialog I am talking about the lady that reads the sentences). Why so fast it is not a race! It is a lesson!

The translation for

太完美主义--> I-m too much of a perfectionist

but then

perfectionist-->完美主义者

怎么办?

could the guy have said

（我）太完美主义者 ?

Now that I've written it all I realised that mine is not such a clever question, since I think it's just the english translation that is the same...so both can be translated as

I'm a perfectionist

....

Good question. Yes, the person in the interview literally "has too much perfectionism" but that just equates to being "too much of a perfectionist" in English.You could say 我是个完美主义者 but not 我太完美主义者.

You will actually often hear Chinese say things like "America is a capitalism country" when they speak English. This mistake is because of this small difference between Chinese and English. In Chinese, it's fine （if no longer accurate) to say that 中国是个社会主义国家. These days, that description fits America better ;-0
