你的信用卡刷不通. (The machine can't read your card.)

如果是对的,我可不可以用交通卡的时候用这样的说法?

(Is this right?  If yes, can I use similar language if I have trouble with my transportation card?)

Please note that many people say 拉卡 lākǎ instead of 刷卡. The meaning is the same-- both describe the act of running the card through a slot or sliding it across a panel.

The machine can't read your card（信用卡or交通卡).

可以说：

你的卡刷不出来.
nǐ de kǎ shuā bù chūlái.

啊？怎么可能?　连交通卡都没用过吗？办什么事儿都用现金吗？牛！　；－）

Another interesting character point:

输 has several meanings. In the lesson, we see it in the context of 输入, to type in, to enter (text or numbers into a computer system). Google Pinyin is a 输入法.

But in the expansion we have one sentence where it is used as you probably first learned it-- "to lose."

It can also be used to mean "to transport," as in 运输. This meaning makes sense when we consider the 车 on the left side, implying "transportation."

You should learn to be very careful when you 刷卡。Otherwise you and your debt will certainly 白头偕老。
