The girl in the video has a killer body and a terrific 臀部(thanks for this vocab). I don't care much for yoga or learning about yoga in Chinese but I watched the video a couple times

It's a nice intro (as was the Tai Chi lesson) to learning to talk about these things. Maybe someday you could get even fitness-nerdier in an Adv lesson--would love to get into inner muscles.

* For 招式 in the Supplementary Vocab, the definition says movement (marital arts, Chinese Opera). 　（＾ｖ＾）

Haha. Maybe that was a freudian slip on my part? Who knows...I am unmarried after all.

I also found this lesson really useful. It's easy to just stumble through physical movement vocab given that you usually can just show the person in real life. At the end of the day though, this kind of thing is really important to natural 'fluency'.

看了今天的课文对话，我觉得老外在中国学瑜伽语言门槛好像很高啊！

虽然我也是日本人，但初次看你的这个句子没注意到‘门槛很高’指的是我们常说的　敷居が高い shiki-i ga takai （feel unwelcome or otherwise discouraged from "knocking at a gate"; find a door of some establishment open to only a select few excluding yourself）。汉语的这个说法和日语‘敷居が高い’有相同的语感吗？

Having listened to today's lesson dialogue, I get the feeling that foreigners wanting to learn yoga in China might find the language pretty discouraging!

你的句子我吃得透吗？（← ‘吃得透’我是刚才学到的。用得对吗？）

Being one of the older members of this group, I'm almost 70, I find that yoga is perfect to help alleviate some of the lack of flexibility that naturally arrives with aging. Be forwarned: You'll be much happier if you add 15 minutes of yoga to your lives in your 30's. The benefits are huge for such a small investment.

In the instructions given by the Yoga teacher, two types of sentences occur:

1) Verb-Object sentences like

闭上眼睛，收起下巴，伸展脊柱，放低臀部，

2) "Object-Verb" sentences like

双脚并拢，左腿向后伸直，右腿膝盖弯曲

What is the correct way to analyse the second type?

Is it wrong to say 并拢双脚 ? Is is wrong to say

把双脚并拢 ?

That vid was really great. Did you select the language to be used in the dialogue based on that used in the vid? I found I understood most of that.

I would love more stuff like this. Dig up a video of someone explaining how to write a specific character, then do a dialogue on calligraphy instruction! That would be really super. Heck, I'd watch any old instruction video if I learned the vocab for it through CPod first.

I think the combo of images plus a voice describing them does great things in providing a context for understanding the language. This dialogue was really hard until I watched the video.

Great job, ChinesePod! As I said, more video linked lessons like this would be kickass! Or just your own videos of Jenny, Connie or one of the counselors explaining something they're doing. Like the Vocab Tour vids, but with actual spoken language. "This is a cucumber. In China we like to put them in sandwiches, to the chagrin of many foreign visitors" instead of just pointing to it and going "cucumber!"

Just thinking out loud.

Good idea(s) simonpettersson !! Like the odd videos chinespod used to do. I too get much more out of the visual dimension in addition to audio. Seems to cement it in. So please chinespod, do more of this !!! Possibly also on topics already covered in lessons. Or someone commenting in Chinese on a video, telling us what they're seeing etc.
