Do any of you know any city nicknames in China like how in the US we have the Big Apple (New York), the Windy City (Chicago), the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia), the River City (San Antonio), the Queen City [of the West] (Cincinnati my city:))?  Or any nicknames for the provinces?

沪 (hù) is short for Shanghai

Hey lavandez...good to see someone from my hometown (I grew up in Cincy and my family is there). I don't know any Chinese nicknames, but here is Cincinnati: 辛辛那提 (xīn xīn nà tí) Of course you can't translate this literally, but if you did it would mean something like "8th heavenly stem that is hanging down from the hand"!!! Sounds pretty nice for Cincy, don't you think?!

Not quite nicknames (诨名 hùnmíng) but there's the short names / symbols for provinces (e.g. used on car registration plates), goes for cities too : 沪 Hù or 申 Shēn for Shanghai 京 Jīng for Beijing 粤 Yuè for Guangdong
