Other than special prepositions such as 回去, must 回 always be followed by a location, for example 回家?

Can 回 instead be followed by another verb, with the meaning 'to return to an activity'? For example, can you say 我应该回学中文。If not, how would I say 'I should get back to studying Chinese'?

It seems my question was not noticed. Any takers?

I could be wrong, but I think 回 must always have something follow it. As for your other question, I think you need to use 重新开始 or 再 instead of 回. But this is all from my limited experience.

回 always be followed by a location, for example 回家,回公司,回国

'I should get back to studying Chinese'? 可以说:我应该重新开始学习中文。
