Alternatives to gmail in China?

As many of you probably realize, gmail does not run well in China, if it runs at all.  Why gmail is having problems is probably a discussion we shouldn't have here.  That said, I'm wondering if any of you have any advice for a pop email service?  I love gmail and would love to stick by her, but she is just too darn disfunctional.  I was thinking about going back to hotmail, but my coworker says he periodically cannot access his account.   What email service works well in China (and hopefully has some fun bells and whistles)?

Thanks

Hi xiaophil, I've always used hotmail as my non-work email account and never had any problems to be honest.  As an alternative, my better half uses yahoo quite frequently and similarly has never experienced any issues I'm aware of except the occassional very large email from the UK not getting through (e.g. when family try sending 30 photos in one go!).  Chris.

I've been using zoho, in addition to my gmail. It is business oriented, so has office applications, but not the homey feeling of gmail. The screen is not so crowded and is easier to navigate in Chrome than it is in Firefox, in my opinion.

I havn't used it much, but have been satisfied with it thus far.

I've been thinking about using zoho. I'm glad you gave a short review. Thanks!

For years I've been going to www.fastmail.fm. I pay for some extra features and love it.
