老师好，


我觉得今晚我应该跟你说中文。 我想用见人的说话。

I'd like to use tonights lesson to try to develop my speaking a bit.  I thought we could cover basic meeting people type language.  I know it sounds a little beginnerish however I find that I am approaching this nervously and thus missing out on opportunities to use my chinese...  ；-（  I'll try and explain what I mean in chinese later  :-)

Whoa that was quite good I almost felt like I was speaking chinese for a bit there  :-)

 

一生 = life as in a persons life

昨天你睡的好吗 

would tend to be used with guests or family.

If trying to get started with someone from work then can talk about work

你在这儿工作多久

or maybe 你喜欢在这里工作吗  ？

If its around a meal time you can say

吃了吗    have you eaten. (I'm assuming this doesn't lead to you having to buy them food?)

If someone appears to be going out you could say 出去啊？

or maybe 出市中心啊

or the town centre 镇中心

 镇 = zhèn = town.  Compared to England though there are not many towns mostly villages 村 and cities 市
