Question re: Audio Review

Hi Chinesepod,

I have a question please. I'm a pretty heavy user of the Audio review. When you're going between levels it's super-useful to be able to review the dialogue etc and the expansion sentences really help with your listening and comprehension when you come to read them. I'm a big fan.

But, why has the format of the audio review changed with more modern lessons? The older lessons used to have the vocab mixed up and repeated a lot more in the second run-through ("let's try that faster!"), so you'd get the words 3 or 4 times, and the expansion sentences were also repeated a couple of times which makes recollection of words a lot more likely.

The modern audio reviews have changed to a much plainer read-through of the vocab, followed by a read-through of expansion sentences. There's no repetition - it's not as useful for helping memorise, basically.

Can it go back to being the old way please?

xiao_liang,

Thanks for your comment. There are different formats for audio review because of the AMS change (Academic Management System which allows us to create and publish lessons). When we switched from the old AMS to the current one, the Audio Review generation script was rewritten, resulting in the current format.

Both John and I agree that the old one was better. I have added the request to our tech project list. We shall be able to do it in the near future.

Thanks!
