Frenchpod Access

February 10, 2012, 12:05 PM posted in General DiscussionSorry for being lazy, but I'd thought I'd post here rather than doing any wider searching:-
I'm heading to France for an afternoon next week and could do with consulting a basic 'restaurant' lesson in Frenchpod (er....there is a 'Frenchpod', right?). Does anyone know whether my paid-up Chinesepod subscription would give me access to something like this?

Nope, spanishpod login works, but can't download to my heart's content.

No, you need a Praxis Pass which at times has been on special for not much more than Premium. It gives you access to all the other Praxis Pods. I guess if it's just for a short stint, you could look at just subscribing to FPod for a month. I seem to have gathered they've stopped the trials. There are restaurant lessons. FPod lessons are great but they're no longer producing new lessons so don't expect much from the boards, but I'd be happy to contribute what I can if you just give me a yell. Good luck mate, or should I say, bonne chance mon ami. :)

February 10, 2012, 08:48 PMThanks folks. I think, given I am merely taking the kids on a ferry ride from Dover to Calais and back again within the space of five to six hours, that I'll skip the 'paid-for' options. If I can lay hands on an elementary restaurant lesson, great. If not, I'll probably try and find an old 'Tricolor' text book from the family vaults:)

February 13, 2012, 07:40 AMHi Grambers,
A ChinesePod membership gives users access to only ChinesePod's lessons, although users can log into the other Praxis sites.
I believe that if you log in for the first time, you should still be able to get a 7-Day trial.

"still be able to get a 7-Day trial"
...."I seem to have gathered they've stopped the trials"
....oops, sorry for leading you up the garden path grambers. Just shows I shouldn't listen to rumours. Could swear I'd seen that posted a few times on this site.

Thanks - I did try to log-in last night and found I could do an easy signup and get access to Frenchpod content for seven days. Very helpful. I've downloaded some basic newbie stuff, so all is good.

no-one is monitoring the boards of FPod mate, and while I'm no expert, I'd be more than happy to help you with any questions if I'm able. Just give us a shout [PM via CPod might be most reliable]

February 10, 2012, 12:56 PMI'm sure someone from cpod staff will answer. But in their absence, The quick answer is no. Unless you have a Praxis Pass, which gets you access to all the other pods, you're out of luck.
But if I find out i'm wrong, and the answer is yes, i'm heading to spanishpod to download a ton of lessons!!
