Best way to use CPod on iPad
bababardwan
April 05, 2012, 12:05 AM posted in General DiscussionI know there is an iPad app being developed. In the interim, what is the best way to use CPod on an iPad...what does and doesn't work? Any tips much appreciated.

April 05, 2012, 08:10 AMThat's great! I wonder if the app for iPhone will get a revision soon. Every time I try to download the lesson it gets stuck and does not download the audio. Does anyone have the same problem?

Are you based in China? From most of our experiences, network speed and reliability in China are usually the causes. If you happen to have a VPN, I'd highly recommend using it to speed up downloads.
You might also want to try log out and back in again.

I was having the same problem. Indeed, it requires a VPN if you are inside China. Even the authentication process will get stuck if you are not on one, but it will especially affect the downloads.
And while I am grateful that we have an iPhone application, the UI could use some serious work. But that is just my own opinion ...

I would second the request for an update. I understand that a while back anyone could see more than they paid for but the fix is not very good.
As a basic subscriber I can ONLY listen and no longer see even the basic transcripts. The iPhone app has a great interface for seeing the dialog transcripts so PLEASE get me that back.
Please don't tell me the 4 other ways I can get the PDF on my iphone as I already know this but it is not so nice. I really like listening to the lessons on my iPhone and using the app to read the transcripts.
Please give basic subscribers the basic transcripts that we pay for in the iPhone app.

April 06, 2012, 11:11 PMAny recommendations for popup translators on the iPad? Read the world is ok but it would be good if there was something better.

April 07, 2012, 12:05 AMI guess Plecos pasteboard reader is the best option in the interim but it'd be nice to have a popup translator so you didn't have to leave cpod site for translation

April 05, 2012, 05:10 AMPlain Safari seems to work much better than before, as of yesterday I could do all the tests except rearranging the sentence order. I never did like that test anyway, though...
Great news about the iPad app, will be looking forward to it!
