browser seems to stop (loop) when viewing pages with sound

My browser - normally firefox but also IE (I think) often goes into a loop (windows task manager shows 100% utilisation) when viewing pages such as the dialogue or vocabulary of lessons or search results from the dictionary, where there are icons with sound behind.
It then takes a long time to get out of this, and it is almost impossible to kill the browser. I am not certain whether the browser problem is associated with the presence of links to sound files or not.

January 02, 2008, 09:56 AMMike, As far as I know, we've never seen this issue before. If we can replicate it, we can get started fixing it. We test with Firefox 2.x, IE 6.x, IE 7, and Safari, and we've yet to have this same issue. Unfortunately, it could be related to your hardware, your Firefox addons, and a bunch of other complicated factors. Still, we'll do our best to get to the bottom of it.

January 02, 2008, 10:20 AMI noticed all kinds of problems when I installed Firefox add on's (to the point I had to stop using the browser alltogether). My gut feeling is it could be Firefox creating problems.

January 02, 2008, 01:56 PMxiaohu, you have to be pretty selective with plugins, since anyone can write any crap and get it put on the list. Choose only the popular and well reviewed ones.
