Jenny:
John: All kinds of bread.

John: Yeah I'm not a fan of all the bread you can get in China. Some of its OK.
John: Tastes are different.
John: So you're going to hear lots of kinds of bread, and also about someone's eating habits.
Jenny:

John: They usually give you a little basket or a little tray.
Jenny: 对。
John: And a little pair of tongs, and you go around carefully selecting yourself without it with your fingers.
Jenny: Or if you're my son, 他 touch.
John: You just stick your face in there and ...
Jenny: Anyway,

Jenny: 对。
John: So 选好 is not 'choose well'.
John: So 'I'm done choosing'. 'I've decided'.
Jenny: 对的。
John: So they're going to go and do what?
Jenny: 结账。结账。
John: Pay the bill. So that's what tones?
Jenny:

You can use that in a restaurant too, right?
Jenny:
John: Instead of 买单.
Jenny: [
John: Got it.
John: 'I don't know which one to choose'. But how does she say it. There's a 好 in there.
Jenny:
John: Its kind of like: I don't know if I choose which one that it will be good.

Jenny: 对。
John: Its kind of like 'I don't know which one I should choose', but there's no should in there, there's a 好 on the end.
John: So you can almost just memorise that sentence.
John: [Butch man??].
Jenny: 好。
John: Speaking of 哪种, we hear some of the types of brad in the next line.

Jenny:
John: 全麦 quite literally is 'whole wheat'.
Jenny:
John: And the tones are ...
Jenny:
So 'whole wheat bread'. And then ...
Jenny:

John: But in this case it doesn't match up to English too well. 燕麦, 'swallow wheat', is actually 'oatmeal'.
Jenny: 对。 Oatmeal.
John: Oatmeal what?
Jenny:
John: 3rd tone, 1st tone. 吐司 is a little bit misleading.
Jenny:
John: It comes from the word 'toast', but the word 'toast' as 吐司 has come to mean 'sliced bread'.
