January 27, 2008, 04:26 PMI actually did post this on the Beijing craigslist. =) Sorry if I upset anyone, I am just trying to help someone find a roomate. Here is the description of the room: 紧邻西三环和中关村南大街的魏公村小区,.离北外和民大步行仅须几分钟.交通方便.两居室其中一小间出租。大间住两个女孩子,一个是法国人。小间大约在12平米左右。房子中等装修,家电全部齐全,并有微波炉和饮水机。可做饭,洗澡,宽带上网。采暖费免收。有床,衣柜,书桌。现找一位生活规律良好,人际关系简单,爱干净的室友。

January 27, 2008, 04:42 PMLots of useful vocab in there for the would be Chinese apartment renters. I hope the Chinese content makes up for my "spam-esque" message! I learned this stuff when I was living in China by buying the 房地产报 and using it to find rooms. Here is a link to a site where you can search for accomodation based on your needs. http://www.e-fdc.com/lpshow2/lplist.asp?Project_Name=&QX_Id=&WY_Id=&JJ_From=3000&JJ_To=4000&Located=&Address=&Pay_Id=&Type_Id=&DSQK=&Project_XKZ=&commitButton.x=35&commitButton.y=7

January 27, 2008, 08:05 PMActually I think a few lessons about these types of ads, like rooms for rent, personal ads, Cars for sale etc. would be very helpful. Maybe user38526 has given us some fodder for useful lessons! Maybe even do a lesson about Chinese Craigslist. We could all use more of this type of vocabulary in our arsenal.

January 28, 2008, 12:14 AMThanks everyone. My 17 year old son is going to study in China this summer and this is a real issue for us. Obviously the collective minds of the Chinesepod community knows more about it than I do. In my mind it doesn't fall that far afield from asking for hotel and restaurant recommendations in China. I appreciate your input as always. It is great to have others who are "in the know" and willing to share.

January 27, 2008, 01:36 PMI'm with Xiaohu on this one. If you want to advertise (or just do a favor by posting a good deal) at least write your ad in simplified, traditional, pinyin, and English, so that there is some learning to be had.
