Passover 4 questions in Mandarin with Pinyin

April 09, 2014, 04:59 AM posted in I Have a QuestionHi everyone,
An unusual question. I was wondering if anyone has come across or seen a link to the traditional Passover 4 questions in Mandarin with Pinyin. I have been looking for a number of years but always strike out in my search. I recently purchased the book 300 Ways to ask the 4 questions and it does have the questions as characters but instead of using pinyin it uses a loose transliteration style instead (oh, sad day!!! ). My newbie skills aren't good enough to break all the characters down into the correct pinyin. I tried a new cool app called Waygo that translates characters into pinyin but it keeps giving different answers and there is no way to isolate characters, it tries to do it a half line at a time.
Anyone know of any resource that has the pinyin as well as the characters?

April 09, 2014, 04:53 AMThis site has the pinyin for the introductory question:
http://www.angelfire.com/pa2/passover/faq/four-questions.html
...which it gives as:
Chinese: Wei Shenmer Zher gar Yewan yu: chi: ta yewan bu: tong?
...but I think the pinyin is slightly erroneous. I would render it as:
Weishenme zhege yewan yu qita yewan butong
..in Characters that is:
为什么这个夜晚与其他夜晚不同?

April 09, 2014, 10:23 AMbtw, I'm interested to know if you live in China and if so where. How are you planning to spend Monday? Anyhow, 祝你和你的家人逾越节快乐 חַג כָשֵׁר וְשָׂמֵחַ

May 21, 2014, 02:33 AMThanks so much Bababardwan. Sorry I missed your reply. I am not living in China (though I wish I was!). I will try to upload a picture of the page from the book and perhaps that will help. I saw yet another version and wound up using that since it had pinyin as well (the book one is just a loose transliteration).
