可是，但是 or 不过?

Further to my previous question, can anyone explain to me the difference between 可是，但是 and 不过? Is this already covered somewhere?

Hi,

可是, 但是, 不过 are generally used in similar situations. They all means "but" or "however". You can inter-change them to avoid using the same word too often in the text. Sometimes depending on the context, it represents different level of emphasis.

其实意思都是差不多的，个人觉得平时口语中可是和不过用的比较多，不用太纠结，我举几个例子你看看。

1.我们出去玩吧！可是我作业还没做好呢。

2.我一直以为我这个解释是对的，不过/可是/但是听你这么一说好像是我搞错了。

3.我叫你了，可是/但是你没有听见。
