February 12, 2008, 11:51 PMI tried to learn 5 new characters a day. I gave up on that after a while. I've gone for the random osmosis approach.

February 13, 2008, 12:37 AMSebire, to be honest, I've already slipped (and it's only February)! I think I'm averaging maybe 2 or 3 a day. I'll be happy if I learn 700 by 2009. Darcey, happy you liked the template. I also searched the web quite a bit for something similar in a bound notebook, but couldn't find anything. So I found the grid and tweaked it to my liking. I hope to stick with the hand-writing, because it's all been on my palm pilot up to this point, using a stylus (not quite the same).

February 13, 2008, 01:09 AMWow, that template remind me my childhood ,especially the elementary school time. Every day we had many homework that practiced the chinese characters and recited those characters during that period. anyway, you guys, don't worry about your chinese learning. If you can keep learning, you will master it one day. So do i. I am keeping learning english everyday, i try to enlarge my vocabulary every second. And i also try to keep balance of my speaking, listening, writing and reading. 永不言弃!yong bu yan qi=Never give up!

February 12, 2008, 11:28 PMThis is neat! I've been working a lot with regular gridded paper as well as some I've found via searching "grid practise Chinese characters" on the internet, and I'll be adding this to my practise pile.
