Message Counter Reset?

I am a proud repicient of 5 messages. But the "About You" gauge suddenly claims I got only 0. It must have been reset<br>. Or did it change its semantics from "All Messages" to "New Messages"? <br>Why not "All Messages" with a bold typeface as an indicator for "There are new Messages"?
