June 10, 2008, 05:46 PMAs a trained educator, over the last two years I have consistently found intrigue and have appreciated your thoughts on education. The lastest blog post included.
Cpod really does exemplify many of the philosophies you have discussed. This is an amazing accomplishment and evidence of career maturity.
Are there any more educational conferences that you will be attending in the near future? Is there a continuation conference for the Web2.0 Learning Symposium (討論會) held at Concordia International School Shang Hai last year?

June 11, 2008, 02:00 AMman2toe,
Thx for the kind words.
I'll be at this year's Learning 2.008 Conference here in Shanghai. Praxis will record the entire event. Later the organizers plan to make it available to the public.
Will you be attending?

To attend would be an awesome learning experience. Unfortunately, attending most likely will not be an option I can entertain.
Keep an eye out for Concordia ShangHai and Hong Kong International school teachers. Some of them were mentors of mine: model educators in my mind. The type you want your children to have.
Doc,
Speaking of children, I sure hope you are around if my children ever need an ER Doc!

Thx for posting. I'm kind of a big believer in allowing students to make their own decisions (even if the decision is to ask for help) and find their own way as much as possible. Pushing political beliefs on them is a coercive act and one I have a strong aversion to.
I try to approach CPod in this way, though it is obviously not a political venue, so it does not arise so often. It does show up, however, in the call for people to learn on their own terms and take charge of their own learning (with jjust as much help or guidance form us as the individual may need).
