Does life imitate Chinesepod?

I never imagined that I would actully use the vocabulary from the "Knitting a Scarf" leeson.  However, one of my Chinese friends in Hong Kong invited me to a knitting lesson today because the teacher only speaks Mandarin and no English.  So she figured it was a good opportunity for me to be able to practice my conversation skills. So I brought the PDF along and learned a whole lot of new words like di1zhen1 (knit), gao1zhen1 (pearl), qi3zhen1 (cast-on), song1 (loose), jin3 (tight), hua1zhen1 (slipstitch).  I don't know which was worse, my knitting or my speaking, but I had a great time practicing both. Auntie Sue would be so proud of me today!

I am so proud of you wei1xiao4.

You practice all you had learned from chinesepod by yourself.  There is a chinese saying goes like this学以致用xue2yi3zhi4yong4,which means make practical use of your knowledge.

I found that chinesepod's lessons are very useful and practical. Such as KTV, MSN and QQ, littering, crosstalk and so on. You can learn the real chinese thoughts, chinese culture from those lessons.  So keep on the good work. Happy learning mandarin with Chinesepod and our poddies.
