Sorry about the slow start here in the Sydney group. When I was asked to help out here I was in the middle of moving house and I didn't realise just how much the aftershock of moving would affect my daily routine. Things are slowly getting back to normal now but it might be a little while (may be days or a week or so) before I can activately participate in the goings-on at cPOD on a daily basis. Thanks for your patience.

You don't need to wait for me, or a group moderator, to do things though.. If you have an idea, suggestion, place-to-go, things-to-do in Sydney which would be helpful to anyone learning Chinese and/or Chinese culture; post them up here! That's what this place is for because you can chat and discuss cPOD lessons in the normal places already, these social networking groups are here for us to share our experiences and suggestions of what we can do in Sydney.

Nimen hao! Women zhu zai Sydney...

We are Jess and Lew, sharing Cpod lessons & studying together. We live a bit away from the centre of town and all the zhong guo ren action but go to Chinatown a lot.

We can recommend the East Ocean for yum cha in Dixon st - upstairs- right in the middle of chinatown. Great seafood yum cha. some of the staff speak Mandarin & some speak Cantonese.

Most scenic yum cha - On Manly wharf, can't remember the name of the restaurant, but it looks out over the harbour! Good food & great views.

Paddys market for fresh fruit and veg and everything else you can think of.

Good Chinese bookshop for people studying Chinese- China Books, Level 1 Citymark building, 683-689 George St, also right in the heart of Chinatown.

Anyone else have favourite China-related sydney places to share?
