Could we do a Chinesepod MP3 experiment?

August 13, 2008 at 08:55 PM posted in General DiscussionAs the idea has been around for some time and people might have heard of urban pranksters etc., I am not sure if it is that good an idea. Anyway, it might be fun for all, say, Chinesepod listeners in Shanghai to assemble at the Bund listening to the same Chinesepod audio and act according to instructions similiar to the MP3-experiment ( http://improveverywhere.com/2007/08/22/the-mp3-experiment-four/ ). It could be some Taijiquan-like performance uttering some greeting in Chinese at the beginning etc.
A bunch of Laowai acting and talking Chinese in sync should even amuse innocent bystanders - foreigners and locals alike.
Please have Aric video things!
What do you think?
You may have a get-together afterwards ;-)

For Aric updates, you can checkout aricwithana.com. Looks like he won't be coming back to China after the Olympics or any time soon.

I forgot my flickr account password... and aric is in thailand due to the visa problems he was facing (if you go to www.current.com you can find his shanghai diaries serie and the comments there, which will show you how bad it had become for him). I hope both will return as soon as possible, cause I love my flickr account and I miss aric and his shows.

A less ambitious crowd thingy could be having people make a video of themselves (or others) while listening to Chinesepod - maybe repeating vocabs while listening to the lesson fix.
Btw: What happened to the flickr site?

Its definitely a fun idea...the special podcast could be broadcast in English and Chinese, with the directions given in basic Mandarin to see how many people can follow them....hmmm...worth thinking about..good suggestion
