Granted, it’s difficult (even for us) to differentiate a “normal talk” from an “upset talk,” but we can tell you that an occasional spat takes place. What over? It rhymes with “shopping”. In this lesson, Zhang Liang and Chen Li get a bit heated in a classic boy-meets-girl at the shopping mall. Just what you always wanted, to learn how to argue in Mandarin Chinese!

Jimin and Andrew's discussion

Ok... I will do this way...

We had meeting today and we go through all our dialogues together... so we discussed what kind of props we need for each dialogues... for Lover's spat we need some clothes so we can show that we are on clothes shopping...

and At the beginning of dialogue I have to be very interested in clothes shopping but andrew will be bit tired and not care about me... but when I say "aiya mai yifu jiu shi yao duo guang..." start to be angry bit cause I realise that andrew is not really interested in me... and after andrew say "wo zhen gao bu dong nuren, tiao lai tiao qu,.." I have to be very angry... so I have to say in bit high tone... then andrew try to make my feel better so he should use calm voice..."lili~ zenme hui ne? wo mei tian zui kai xin de shihou jiu shi he ni zai yiqi..." and "hao le hao le... shi wo tai du bu hao.." but at the end I still be angry and just go away cause in the dialogue lili is pretty angry about zhang liang...

we will use some clothes to show we are shopping and we need to use expression well when we speak... like I have to be angry and andrew has to be calm...

maybe we can meet other day after we finish our listening exam2 *^^*

yeah that sounds great thursday I am free after listening exam, i will probably go to the second class though!

as we discussed today at great length =D

THE COME ON

ill just refer to you and me as li fei and zhang liang

we will be seated angled towards the audience both sitting beside one another typing on our computers. as the scene is set "you yao jia ban".

my attention will be on whatever paperwork/imaginary computer i have in front of me and I will be looking at my watch to suggest how I am ready to finish work for the day.

after i make my comment on "mei ban fa a" then you will indicate your hunger through stomach pat or whatever you feel is right. then after you suggest we eat we both begin to pack up our paperwork and pens etc.

when i make the 'yiding yao chi de hao dian" maybe you can express your shock with complements your following comments on how ni mei xiang dao wo hai zhen titie. then i will act as if its nothing and be very modest

(still slowly packing up! we have lots to pack up after a long day at work)

"...xian zai nar qu chao a" - you can have a bit of a smile and flutter fo the eyelids, just a bit of harmless flirting =D

the interactions from here on can be far more smiley to one another as the conversation has changed gears into a work conversation into a flirtatious encounter

from when i say "ni shuo de dui" we will begin walking across the stage and to our imaginary food store. this will set up quite nicely with your final comment.

"qi shi ni shen bian jiu you" - i will sort of jump with an element of surprise or something that will signify the ending in a funny and lighthearted manner.
