Hi guys. Three of us realized today how we've been doing stupid thing for last three weeks. Anyway, it's time to shut up and really concentrate on what we REALLY have to do for rest of days till performance. So far I only have a clear idea of two conversation of our topics, rest of the others I've only skim it through. So now I'm about to listen the dialogue from "A fated Meeting", which begins the whole drama. And then I'll come back to make some comments on it. Let's do it!

Ok.guys. it's quite a few series of episode, evoking bit of wonders for what's going to happen next.

The love story begins with a meeting between Zhang Liang and Lili, both working people, pretty aged(late20s -because old friend Lili was 30yrs old.) so they are to have quite a serious relationship to start and from what I realized from the attitude of Zhang liang is that he is really into Lili.

Throughout the rest of the dialogue, it seems like Zhang liang is rather not a brave guy since he cares too much about the old friend of his girlfriend(while Lili doesn't seem to be paying any attention to her old friend). He doesn't know how to say "sweet words" to his girlfriend, and from the fact that it's his first time writing a love-letter, he is not very outgoing guy, flurring around the girls. Lili doesn't frequently appear after their bit of quibble over "the old friend matter".

Comment for our dialogues

  1. The jealous friend

I don't think JingJing is really a best friend of Lili. How dare could she talk to FeiFei such way? Jing should've stopped FeiFei from asking Zhang Liang to go out. Now, she is the source of the problem as did in the restaurant (ordering Lobster!!- I'd kick her out if she were a friend of mine --^)

Anyway, as Jing said, Lili is also fond of Zhang Liang as much as he does by the fact that Lili suggets him to order to avoid ordering expensive dish. Isn't that something the girl does for boy when both are in love? I don't like the attitude of JingJing, and later she even does worse thing.(motivating Feifei to approach to Zhang)

  1. An old flame.

This guy, the old friend of Lili, is really a funny guy. I mean I think he doesn't have any interest (romantic) in Lili. He should've asked Lili's phone number if he really wanted to see her again. And he is bragging. He seems to be humble, but he says every bits and pieaces elaborating on and on how great he is. It's no wonder Zhang Liang is jealous towards him.

Just few things to mention for our performance!

You know, we really have to perform out the character upon their characteristic, but apart from the personality, we also need to pay attention to few kinds of exclamation marks! like one of these,, 噢,哎,哼, I wonder if they carry any meaning, but we can find it out later. First of all just let us try to produce the most fitting tone for each character.

Another thing to make a comment,

it's really a surprise that I can actually recognize the grammars appearing in the dialogue ( that we've learnt in the class!!) I thought that grammar isn't very necessary, but now i see when it comes to listening to the dialoge of the unseen text, it really helps us to understand!! ( although the vocabs are hard to catch up. I can't go any further listening without the vocab list)

I'll do more listening for out parts now.

Let us get together early next week and rehearsal our scene.

Hi, everyone. Well, it is still shocking for me to realize about this discussion:p Anywayz.. i hope we do our best till the due date of our rehearsal and share the ideas of what we will do to perform efficiently. Firstly, i need to understand the script fully and at lest i know my part now- which is JingJing,I will come back with better ideas and understandings!!!very soon. Haha

Hi guys~ Firstly, we need to summarise the characteristics of Lili, Zhang Liang , Jingjing and Liu Xiang. From the first part of the dialogue'The jealous friend' till the end of the dialogue, jingjing's attitude is not pleased against zhang liang. i think she is really childish and sarcastic especially from the part "ni hai hao yisi shuo". However Zhang liang is quite generous in the dalogue 'The jealous friend'. I feel that he is trying to understand the attitude of jingjing. but from 'an old flame' as Karen mentioned, Zhang liang cares too much about Liu xiang. it is really different attitude compared with what he did at the first dialogue.

And its important to understand the situations each characters faced with fully, to perform efficiently. also concentrate on the tone marks. i'll do more listening and start to memorise my part.

I did some good listening on our parts, the jealous friend and an old flam.

As you guys know, I'm playing Lili, I realized that Lili is quite in fond of Lix Xiang, or not, at least admire him in terms of seeing a young, intelligent guy owning of such a big company because she repeatedly says that she is disappointed for not hearing from him so long and reveals an intention of wishing to see him again. ->" dagai shi wang le wo zhege laopengyou le ", and again at the end, "women zai lianxi".

As the title indicates"an old flame", there is a possibility that Liu Xiang and Lili were in good mood, bit more romantic than a friendship.

It's very contrasting, when Zhang Liang run into Lili, saying sorry for being late. Lile seems rather more like recalling the memories of Liu Xiang than concentrating on Zhang Liang.

That's what I felt for a character of Lili i'm gonna perform. I tried to read out and memorize my bits today but it's not that easy as I thought cause the vocabs aren't very familiar. I know the meaning of the vocab but don't get a deep meaning or nuance of the saying.

ahah!! I'm worried,!! Let's get together soon and check on each other.

Hi all- I did lintening on both "The jeolous frend" and "An old flame".

For my part on JingJing in "The jeolous frend" i realized that JingJing's character is a bit childish and sarcastic as Mellissa metioned above. So when i porform JingJing i should be very impatient and sensitive on every part Lili talk about and show jeolousy between Lili and Zhang Liang. I also felt that JingJing kind of want to make them have a quarrel by saying in sarcastic way and speak in a critical way. For example, in the beginning when Zhang Liang is late, JingJing comment on him by emphasizing on what Lili told her before saying "wo yizhi ting Lili baoyuan ne". But i think Zhang Liang is quite optimistic and has a nice personality also a bit humerous person. He tries to have a meeting in a good atmosphere and he tries to calm Jing Jing down by emphasizing on how Lili talked about JingJing in the past so that he can help to keep their friendship. This point shows in the quote by Shang Liang "Wo keyi zousheng,Lili meitian dou wiang she ni". However, it seems Lili at the end got a bit angry and does not understand on JingJing's behaviour by saying "Ni jintian zenmale? Huoqi zheme da?".

When i porfom JinJing's part in 'The jealous friend', I'm going to be paly as a high tempered and sensitive character also by saying in high tone voice.I will pracice more and analyse the part further.

Also other play "An Old Flame" which i found a bit interesting and has a bit of romantism. We devided our part, so my part will be Liu Xiang the one who was a friend or may be more than a just friend as Karen metined above.

I am not sure if Liu Xiang has a special feeling towards Lili but there is possibilities Lili (still)has a special feelig towards Liu Xiang. She seems to have interests on his business and by recalling the memories between them and remember how he not used to drink coffee in the past. One thing i am pretty sure is about is that they are so surprised and happy to see eachother after such a long time have been passed.

I am pleased to play am intelligent business man Liu Xiang-Haha. But i am a bit worried whether i shoud speak as a man voice:P which i thimk is a bit impossible rather i should focus on the tones and memorization.

I wil start to memorize my parts from today. Woooo~ too much!!!:( Kuku
