September 09, 2008, 03:36 AMSpeaking of 美女 (beautiful woman), a friend recently told me that 美女 has taken the place of 小姐 in many parts of China.
I know that 小姐 can have a negative connotation (i.e. prostitute), but can anyone in China confirm 美女? My friend said you could use it casually, even with a stranger. I know in the states, if I went up to a woman stranger and said "Hi beautiful woman", that she'd slap me silly!

I could have used this one but there's no obvious 腾讯 connection in the picture. :P
