Beijing food, intermediate short text

This is a short text suitable for elementary/intermediate. After the text there is three links to an external site where the same texts is available with regular annotation and another one with annotation in the status bar as well as all the words in an wordlist in the end of the document. The final one is annotated with pinyin.

北京的火锅

来北京好几年了﹐我经历了许多很有意思的事情。我最感兴趣的﹐是北京的火锅。

我第一次吃涮肉﹐是一九九三年冬天在渔阳饭店*附近的五洲*火锅城。那是一个星期六的晚上﹐爸爸带我们全家去那里﹐想尝一尝火锅是不是好吃。我们一进饭店﹐服务员就热情地招待我们﹐给我们每人端来一个小锅和一个酒精炉﹐又给我们上了牛肉片﹐羊肉片﹐鹿肉片﹐蘑菇﹐粉丝和几种蔬菜。服务员帮我们点燃酒精炉﹐过了一会儿﹐水就开了。然后我们就学着用筷子夹肉﹐菜等﹐涮着吃。火锅的作料味道也很好﹐我们边说边吃﹐人人都吃得满头大汗﹐全身发热﹐特别有意思。以前我们在家吃饭都是先做好饭菜才吃。吃火锅可以自己想吃什么就吃什么﹐一个人一个小锅也很有趣﹐另外涮了肉的汤也很新鲜﹐很好喝。

从那一天开始﹐我们家经常到那里去吃火锅。后来妈妈还从饭店那儿买了十多个小酒精炉﹐家里设宴时也常常请客人吃火锅﹐增添了宴席上的欢乐气氛。我们家不但成了五洲火锅城的常客﹐有时候他们还请我们把新的菜谱翻译成英文。

火锅使我们和五洲火锅城的友谊加深﹐也给我们家招来了不少印尼的客人。
