"My birthday", 224 characters. newbie/elementary level.

This is a short text suitable for elementary/intermediate. After the text there is three links to an external site where the same texts is available with regular annotation and another one with annotation in the status bar as well as all the words in an wordlist in the end of the document. The final one is annotated with pinyin.

我的生日

今天是我的生日﹐我的好朋友都来了。高先生以前是我的大学同学﹐现在他在一个公司工作。他很忙。白小姐是我的同事﹐她是华侨﹐在英国银行工作。她很漂亮﹐也很能干。她会说英文﹐中文﹐也会说日文和法文。她说﹐她很想到英国去看她爸爸﹐妈妈。钱先生和钱太太是我的好朋友。他们都是大夫﹐在医院工作。我妈妈常去他们的医院看病。今天钱先生来了﹐可是钱太太没有来。因为医院里的工作太忙了。

今天﹐朋友送我很多礼物。有的人送表﹐有的人送书﹐也有的人送笔。我爸爸对我说﹕“我和你妈妈没有礼物﹐我们就送你两个字﹕‘努力’。”
