Shaolin Northern Long Fist in Mandarin?

September 29, 2008, 01:28 PM posted in General Discussionit's been awhile since I took Kung Fu, but i've been looking for the poems that you learn when you learn the forms. I remember much of the poems in english, but never learned them in mandarin.
There's a link to the typical poem for 5 animals here. Getting this into mandarin is a challenge, but an interesting one.

Thanks for forming this group. I would have thought that your group would have had 000's of members, given the mandarin focus. I also thought that there would be a few cpod lessons on kung fu.

Glad you like it and thankyou for joining.Yeah,I'm a little surprised too that we're 3 years in and there seems to be very little reference to the martial arts at all as far as I can see,though I do understand that it's not the first thing one needs to learn in Mandarin and there are many many more immediately important topics to cover.Still they do seem to cover some pretty specialised topics at times and as an outsider I always had the impression that the martial arts were a big part of Chinese culture.Even when I visited Taiwan I remember having the fabulous experience of getting up before dawn to make my way to Sun Yat-sen memorial and joining in a Tai Chi class in front of 101 while hundreds of others were doing the same thing.So it still seemed pretty big to me.Also it featured in the opening games of the Beijing Olympics.However,I'm sure CPod are constantly being inundated with all sorts of requests.The wait will just make it that much better when I'm sure they will eventually do it.Anyhow,thanks again for posting that poetry.I love the imagery and where this has evolved from.I must learn it some time.Cheers.
