My name is Oksana and I'm a teacher of Mandarin in Russia, Siberia. People are interested in studying mandarin here (mostly because of territorial closiness to China. Alomost everyone is studying Mandarine for business purposes), so I never suffer from lack of students. The yongest student at the moment is 16, the oldest one is 40. So age groups differ a lot.
It may sound odd, but actually there are a few Mandarin textbooks written in Russian. Most of the textbooks I use in my teaching, I've written by myself or translated from English.
As for the Chinesepod, I sometimes use dialogs to develop my students' listening skills. Qingwen also helps a lot, when I need some exsamples for grammar patterns.
I also use the pictures to some of your lessons in speaking tasks ( E.g: "describe a picture").
For the other texbooks - a usefull one is 交通汉语 by 大山, as it has video lessons. I brought it from Beijing some years ago and translated into Russian. Another usefull book is "Chinese measure word without tears" ( unfortunately forgot the author).
Of course, it will be super-cool if Chinesepod will publish somethings for theachers :)
