Chinese Character

So, Ive been using chinese pob for almost a month now, and enjoy the lessons, as the teachers have great down to earth personalities!! One thing, I am lost on, is how each character represents a word, so as in Ni, 你尼拟泥腻逆呢 ， I am kinda lost as to why you would use one other than another, like would they translate like you, your, etc??? HELP!!! :)

Hi,

In Chinese,there are many charactors that have same pronunciation with others.They usually do not have the same meaning.

I suggest you to study characters in certain scene.It will much easier to remember the meaning of each word.
