Harry Potter as a lesson topic???

Hey Cpod crew....

 

 great lessons lately...

 

 and I know it's kind of cheesy, but also kind of fun if enough reader's expressed an interest at least...

 with book number 7 coming out soon, the final book in the series, a lot of people are waiting in suspense....I know I am....Id love to do a lesson talking about Harry Potter and how it's caused a stir around the world yada yada....whatever, just thought itd be cool so wanted to submit the idea!

I think it would be a nice idea, all though I am not a Harry Potter fan. It would be cool to have a script from the movie (any) in Chinese! Im sure it would have a lot of interesting vocabulary.

Oh thats true. :) Well then they should do a Harry Potter movie madness. I probably shouldnt have said that as you are supposed to guess what movie it is from on Movie Madness. hehe :D

if they use the actual movie coming out soon it would be quite a bit more challanging (even for the hardcore fans) ;-)

POTTY MOUTH - I would like a intermediate/upper-intermediate lesson on Harry Potter. A lot of the vocabulary in the book is hard to find in dictionaries, although the general conversational tone makes it not too hard to read. The character names also take a while to pick up. I tried reading it before, but didn't stick with it. Maybe I will give it another shot...see if my Chinese has really improved or not.

I'm still waiting for my Star Wars related lesson. Maybe it doesn't have to be entirely dedicated to Star Wars, just maybe Science Fiction, and it could take place at a Nerdy Science Fiction convention. We could finally settle for once and for all how to say "Nerd, Geek, Spaz, Dork etc." in Chinese. I can't wait to hear Zi Heng act out the part of the guy obsessed with Star Trek or Star Wars dressing up like a Jedi! Hey we could also find out how to say "Jedi" in Chinese! MaN the possibilities here are ENDLESS!
