Help - cant download anki files

I am trying to get started with the vocab flashcards. I downloaded anki for my comuter use and then selected vocab on the site and started the download to my computer. The problem lies in that it downloads a xx.txt file and anki is searching for an xx.anki file.  can anyone help?

Do your imports have the audio??

Thank you, I set up the mandarin file but when I go to import, the file downloaded from chinesepod is a x.txt file and is not recognized as importable. Any ideas?

You have to create in Anki an empty Anki deck "File -> New", go into "Settings -> Deck Properties", click "Add", choose "Add: Mandarin", click "OK", then delete the Basic model.

Now choose "File -> Import", and choose the downloaded CP Anki file. Click on "Import".

Later you can just repeat the last step and add new vocab.
