成瘸子(chéng quézi) : become a lame person
瘸 (qué) : lame
with 疒 (nì) 'sick' , 加 (jiā) 'add' and 肉 (ròu) 'flesh' = the excess of flesh that makes you sick

May 19, 2009, 09:14 AMI first thought it was funny but actually it turns out to be true. A broken leg can get shorter afterwards if it's not properly fixed or if the patient walks with his leg in plaster.

According to the definition, when a woman breaks the high heel of one of her shoes does she really 成瘸子 (become a lame person) even if it's not an "excess of flesh" ? ;o)
Btw, is it safe to use the word "gimp" in english ?
