August 08, 2009, 01:08 AMaccording to taiwan's news98 internet broadcast the typhoon has been downgraded to a mid-level category. its threat to taipei city has been downgraded, however there is still a medium threat to the south. those currently bodysurfing in the kending area, i envy you!

August 08, 2009, 01:23 AM好無聊! It was pretty lame here in Taipei. I was expecting more for my first typhoon outside of the US.
I think it's all but passed now...just some lingering rain. I guess it was much worse in other areas...2 people were killed with another 4 missing.
One good note is that the torrential rains have alleviated the recent drought.
