speak chinese like a native

What's the missing character in this sentence?

I was translating a book (still on the back blurb :P) but came across a character I didn't know but I can't look it up since I don't know it's pinyin (or even radicals - they're still pretty confusing for me :S). I even tried a hand-writing recognisation dictionary but even that couldn't find it >.< Could someone help me figure out what it is? :) The sentence is below, with the mysterious character replaced with a '*':

, 出*天性渴望喝我的

Anyone got any ideas as to what it might be? Here's a drawing I did of it. Please excuse my terrible drawing skills :P
