Tech Query

January 29, 2010, 07:12 AM posted in General DiscussionI have a query/suggestion regarding "Paste From Word". At present we need 3 steps - use the mouse to click the button, use the keyboard to paste, then use the mouse again to insert into the document. Is there any reason the text could not be inserted with one click of the "Paste From Word" button?
Also, after pasting from Word, the cursor moves back to the top of the page, so we have to scroll back down again. This becomes very annoying in a long post with lots of pasting. Could this be fixed so the cursor stays at the end of the pasted text?

I don't think you understand the issue with pasting from Word. Your suggestion is just a standard copy-and-paste using keys instead of a mouse. Have you seen what happens when you do that from a Word document?

January 31, 2010, 03:26 AMA related problem that seems to have been created by the recent overhaul:
When you edit a comment that includes a paste-from-word, you still see a lot of crap in the edit box (even though its not visible in the comment itself). Could this be fixed?

January 29, 2010, 03:05 PMDon't know if this would address the problem you're trying to solve, but you could hit ctrl-A to highlight everything, then hit ctrl-c to copy everything, then hit ctrl-p to paste it all into cpod. Still 3 steps, but only three steps, no matter how long the document is.
