Thanks for the lesson this week. I have to say that for the past few lessons the sound quality of the chat has been such that its been difficult to follow a lot of the conversation. Sometimes I feel I'm only hearing 50-60%. So I'm often at a loss to hear some key words. For example tonight it was 及时 which I didn't hear first time and then thought was 'dishi'... I'll try a different connection next week to see if that helps. Anyway was good to get the distinction on 帮忙和帮助！I've been making that mistake for a long time !

改变一般是是动词:to change；to revise;to alter：上课的时间改变了。也可以是名词： 上海有了很大的改变。

变化一般是名词: change; variation：上海有了很大的变化。 天气变化真快！变化也可以是动词，但是后面不可以有object：人们的思想（thought）变化了。  天气变化真快！

E.g.

你怎么又改变主意了？ (How come you're changing your mind again?)

网络改变了我们的生活。 (In internet has changed our lives.)

因为世博会，上海的变化很大。 (Because of the World Expo, Shanghai is changing a lot.)

因为奥运会，北京的变化很大。 (Because of the Olympics, Beijing has changed a lot.)

I thought I'd left a Post earlier but now can't see it... sorry if this repeats. I have a function I'm speaking at this Thursday - another week when I can't make it. I was hoping to perhaps pick another evening but think its too late now.

Meanwhile was going to ask the following :

改变和变化有一样的意思。改变是名词也是动词对不对？变化一样的吗？在什么情况应该用改变和变化， 我困扰了。。。
