June 07, 2010, 10:31 AMHi Grace,
Really sorry for the late notice but John and I won't be able to make our lesson this evening. Our daughter is a little poorly after some injections and she won't settle for the lesson so we will have to miss it. But we will look forward to talking to you as usual next week - doing the same lessons as this week if that's ok to make sure we're learning them properly.
Many thanks - duo xie

November 23, 2009, 04:26 AMHi Grace, Hope you are well. I wanted to let you know that I changed the lessons I studied this week so that from next week, according to our lesson plans, John and I will be studying the same lessons - which should make it easier for us to practise together. I hope this is ok. This means that this week I have looked at:
How's the weather?
How have you been?
Which time zone?
Taxi to the aiport?
And finding a seat.
We can practise some of these that we have time tonight hopefully.
I also have a few questions on how to use the past tense - when to use 'le' and when to use 'guo' after the verb and if and when they can be used together? I also get confused about the particle 'de' - sometimes I don't understand why it is there - for example in the sentence 'he came very early' which is translated on the expansion of 'taxi to the airport' as ta lai de hen zuo. Why the de?
Look forward to practising and learning the answers to these questions this evening. Thanks
Sarah

January 04, 2010, 05:02 AMHi Grace,
Sorry John and I haven't been around much these last few weeks. I'm afraid that with lots of work and travel home to see family the Mandarin study rather got sidelined. Looking forward to starting back later today though. Can we please practise today the last lessons from my month three - that is:
I like beef
Do you have a menu
Can you use chopsticks?
I'm really full.
John is also keen to practise his lessons for the same time - month three week 4. That way we can both start learning the same lessons according to your plan for month 4 as from next Monday.
Thanks and speak later

October 19, 2009, 05:42 AMHi Sarah, I think we should practice M2-W2 tonight. Am I right? Because we have talked about the lesson of M1-W1:
Week 1
1. Newbie - Where's the bathroom?
2. Newbie - Where's the garbage?
3. Newbie - Where's the bus stop?
4. Newbie - Where are you going?
And tonight we need to practice:
Week 2
1. Newbie - Wrong Number
2. Newbie - Emergency Call
3. Newbie - She went out
4. Newbie - Asking for a Phone Number
But if you think there is no questions about M2-W2, we can move to M2-W3.

February 07, 2010, 11:45 PMHi Grace,
Just a quick line to say sorry but John and I won't be near an internet for our lesson today. We're still in Australia and I think taking the call on one of our mobiles will cost a little too much. So can we try again next week please. But we are doing our homework! Thanks Sarah

March 01, 2010, 08:10 AMHi Grace,
just a quick line to say that I'm afraid John and I failed to do our homework this week - its been particularly busy. We would still like our lesson but can we practise a bit more the lessons from the previous three weeks when we were away please? So maybe more on transportation, buying goods in shops, and hobbies. Just talking is good practise for us. Sorry and thank you! Sarah

March 29, 2010, 01:21 AMHi Grace,
Just a quick note to confirm our lesson later today. John is abroad with work so hopefully we can use his lesson as well so i can practise talking about this week's lessons and some revision on other lessons. He will definitely be around next Monday though so I am going to suggest that he takes my lesson then to help him catch up!
Thanks and talk later,
Sarah

January 27, 2010, 09:23 AMHi Grace,
Hope you're well. Do you think you could send John and I a lesson plan for the next month please? We will go on holiday from Thursday evening and if you can get us a lesson plan then we can print off the lesson PDFs for the next few weeks to take with us and learn. We jut have week 4 from this current plan left to practise at the moment.
On that front - we already know that we can not make next Monday evening. We will practise the lessons with each other instead and contact you with any questions. I hope we can talk the following Monday (8th) by skype or if not by phone.
Thanks again
Zaijian

October 19, 2009, 04:48 AMHi Grace,
Looking forward to our lesson tonight. Just to let you know that I can't find the lesson 'A lot of sisters' on ChinesePod so I have picked what I hope is a similar lesson called 'All in the Family' instead. We can practise the four lessons including this one this evening. Thanks. Zaijian. Sarah
