The film 南京 ("Nanking") and your thoughts

In China, and surely in other theaters across the globe, the film 南京 is currently showing.  My fiance and I just got back from the film and I'm feeling quite, well, just as one should after seeing such a documentary.

Just curious to see who else out there has seen it and what you got from it.

I was unaware they had finally made a movie about this. I did read Iris Chang's excellent book, but I'll definitely try to catch the film as well. Thanks for this post!

It's definitely a documentary. Lots of interviews with survivors. Some speak 普通话, though not very clearly. Some speak a whole different dialect all together. So, make sure you're up on your characters or find a theater playing it with English subtitles.
