John, I'm not American and long past being a teenager, but still probably would get that street sign if it had my name on it, without much thought for the consequences.

海宁 is my Chinese name. My wife gave it to me 1996. I used it here until the switch enforced Roman characters.

If you were an American teenager, you would have had to steal one of those street signs for a souvenir. :)

There already is a 海宁路 in Shanghai, a pretty big one even. When we wandered from 城隍庙 to the train station we followed that one for a short while.
