Is it possible to use 好相称的 for a well-matched couple that doesn't have matching outfits ?

Apparently, for a couple, 不相称的 doesn't seem to be the exact opposite of 好相称的. But I didn't understand the reason I was given in chinese.
What's the opposite of 好相称的 ?

My guess is that the opposite of matching isn't not matching, but rather clashing.

他们俩很配。Tāmen liǎ hěnpèi.
For a well-matched couple that doesn't have matching outfits，you can also say:他们俩很配。
For a couple that have matching outfits, you can say: 他们的衣服很配。Tāmen de yīfu hěn pèi.
配 or 相配 is more common than 相称.
好相称的 sounds strange, 很相配 or 很配 is more natural.
