Checked it out. It is a pretty cool review site of all the Chinese sites out there.  I tried out their number one choice and it took me a few minutes to figure out how to configure their java with my google crome browser.  But I did get it to work.  I would like to know who is behind the review site and why they put it up.

Hmm. A site called learnmandarinchineseonline.com rates a site called chineselearnonline as number one.

And last month, the same user 'marktoddson' posted a link to a youtube lesson from chineselearnonline.

Do you work with CLO Todd?

I have previously listened to a number of these lessons. Although all such material has its uses, it rates way down the list. The guy in the lessons has an annoying voice not unlike that of Serge Melnyck, for those who have listened to the Melnyck lessons. However, his Chinese pronunciation is much worse than Melnyck's (he only began learning Mandarin himself about 4-5 years ago), and says some things that are just wrong. And now he has stopped all lesson production, and is trying flog off old lessons in bundles of 60. My rating - not worth it.

CLO and Melnyk both have native speakers. What is so annoying about their voices? Ok, they sound not as nicely as Jenny's... Remember, the early podcasts of ChinesePod were spoken by Ken, also with some mistakes!

The Chinese ladies sound fine. I'm referring to the non-native male hosts.

The difference between Ken's early podcasts and these is that in CLO and Melnyks, the Chinese speakers only speak to utter the vocabulary or dialogs. They (for the most part) don't contribute to the discussion, so a non-native speaker (Melnyk or Adam) is providing us with most of the listening experience and direction. In CPod lesson's Jenny had almost an equal share, and I found it easy to ignore Ken.
