October 15, 2007, 09:30 AM posted in General DiscussionPhoenix TV, a Chinese broadcaster based in Hong Kong, is available over Jalipo. In case you're not familiar with it, Jalipo is an internet company which provides streaming television in exchange for credits. 20€ gets you 2000 credits, and Phoenix TV costs 1.25 or 1.75 credits per minute, depending on the bandwidth you want.
A cool feature of this channel is that they subtitle their content in hanzi, making it a great learning tool.

October 15, 2007, 01:56 PMTangmoo, sounds cool! Could you give us a few pointers? You can embed YouTube videos by pasting the embed code directly into the comment space. Wildyaks, I second that lesso request. In fact it's always nice when CPod is a little ahead of the curve on news items about China about to hit the headlines :)

October 15, 2007, 12:11 PMI just watched TV in the house of a friend. It was all about one major event that is happening in China right now - the Party Congress! And I thought why not a lesson on the party congress? I would really appreciate it. And BTW, Chinese news (and most programs for that matter) are always subtitled. I was happy to recognize a few words I just recently learnt on Cpod.
