你這邊作什麼？

June 09, 2010, 03:57 PM posted in I Have a QuestionHi, someone asked me, “你這邊作什麼？” and I thought it was because he sells food on the street, and I haven't been by there in a long time, but when he saw a confused look on my face, he said, "在這裡作什麼工作？“
“這邊” is another way to to say around here, or in this area? Has anyone else heard this before?
I live in 浙江的溫州 if that helps.

Here"你（在）这边作什么？”=“（你）在这里作什么工作”。And "你（在）这边作什么？”also means “你在这里有什么事？”（What are you doing here?）。obviously,it's easy to making people misunderstanding the point,so the guy ask you again to make you clear。
